Practitioners’ perspectives on nutrition: Dietary practices and needs of older adults

Dr Sophia D. Amenyah is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre (ADRC), Bournemouth University. She is a Registered Nutritionist and has a PhD in Nutrition and Genomics Medicine. Sophia’s research focuses on co-produced, multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches to understand the determinants of nutrition and healthy ageing throughout the life course. She leads on several projects with focus on reducing inequalities and improving healthy ageing in underserved communities. One project is the evaluation of the Interreg EU project, ASPIRE, which seeks to co-create a holistic model to reduce obesity and unemployment in socially deprived communities. Her other projects include investigating inequalities in nutrition and healthy ageing for Black Africans in the UK and dementia prevention in minority ethnic communities.
