Active ageing: What are the latest innovative approaches to preserve physical and cognitive capital?

Since completing a PhD in 2012 in the field of exercise and appetite control, my research has predominantly examined the effects of dietary interventions and physical activity on health in later life. I currently occupy a leading role within the University of the Highlands and Islands, Active Health Exercise Lab, Inverness.

My primary research interests are:

  • Interactions between physical activity and appetite control
  • Changes in appetite and diet in later life
  • Counteracting malnutrition in older adults using physical activity and dietary interventions
